United Seniors in Action (USA) is a state-wide coalition of seniors and senior groups with a special focus on Senior health care issues. USA is a non-profit, non-partisan organization, receives no state funding, and does not sell insurance or other products to seniors.
USA members have a direct influence on the way Connecticut is run.

USA members are working to make sure that those in power don’t sell us out.
In 1997, Governor Rowland tried to do just that by promising to create a separate health care system for Connecticut’s poorest and most frail Seniors and save the state $55 million by doing it. His proposal could only result in severely reduced services to seniors. It would create a two-tiered health care system in our

state - one for the wealthy and one for the rest of us! USA’s daily efforts caused many legislators to withdraw their support for Governor Rowland’s plan; he suspended all work on the project in February 1998. USA voiced its objection until he withdrew the plan and we will continue our efforts to be sure it is not resurrected!

USA monitors every piece of state legislation that has a direct impact on Seniors. If it’s anti-elderly, our members will fight it.
